Quick Fix, a short, but but oh-so-sweet story of a user's journey on the way to ultimate self-optimization.
Illuminating themes of feminine beauty ideals and consumerism Quick Fix satirically questions narratives of 'self-care' online. Is the notion of 'self-care' empowering or is yet another marketing tool encouraging women to self-optimize?
Whilst watching, viewers are able to switch between 2 alternate worlds:
Quick Fix - Extra


A glossy, contrived and overwhelmingly pink haven, where indulging in 'self-care' is the absolute priority. With a simple 'like' on the Quick Fix Feed, products which have been tailored and meticulously designed for the user, arrive instantly.
The other side: a different marketing strategy...
Quick Fix - Pure


A soft, muted, green Goddess haven, where... indulging in self-care is also the priority. At Quick Fix - Natural, self-care products will arrive instantly, allowing her to reach her purest potential.
(Disclaimer: all products are 70% water and will cost a days work)
The Interactivity
Compositionally the 2 films have been filmed perfectly in sync. Whilst watching, the viewer will be able to switch between the 2 sides, by pressing the spacebar or button on the screen.






An HTML5 videoplayer has been designed and coded, which will allow the switching between films.
